Carnivore Chipotle Turkey Bowl

A Versatile Delight for Carnivores, Keto Fans, and Bacon Lovers!

Ok, I know turkey can be boring but for some reason, at the end of my pregnancies and at the beginning, poultry is often the most appealing meat to me. This Carnivore Chipotle Turkey Bowl has a smokey, chipotle flavour complimented by BACON. YES, BACON. I made a keto version of this for my family and to also make the pictures pretty lol.

I highly suggest giving this a go as there are some variations you can get creative with - make it keto, carnivore, dairy free etc. You can also use ground chicken if you prefer! You can also cut the recipe in half but I think you might like having 2 lbs of it for leftovers!

Supplies:

  • frying pan

  • cooking utensils

  • measuring spoons

  • cutting board and knife/knives Ingredients: *NOTE*: If you do not have smoked paprika, double the chipotle chili powder, or if you cannot find chipotle chili powder, double the smoked paprika. For a more BOLD flavour, use the larger measures of the seasonings.

  • 2lbs of ground turkey meat

  • 6 strips of thick cut bacon (or any bacon you have), cooked and chopped

  • 1/2-3/4 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2-3/4 tsp chipotle chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp dried oregano

  • 1/2-1 tsp sea salt

  • 1tsp ACV AKA apple cider vinegar (for brightness)

  • For garnish (optional): avocado, fresh cilantro, lime wedges, sour cream

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet/frying pan, begin cooking your ground turkey.

  2. In a small bowl, add all dried spices and stir to combine.

  3. Sprinkle all the spices over the turkey and add the apple cider vinegar. Continue cooking the meat through while mixing the seasonings in. If your pan is really dry, add 1/4-1/2 cup of water to help distribute the spices.

  4. Once the meat is cooked through, serve in a bowl and garnish with bacon and sour cream OR, to your liking. You could also serve over rice or in a taco shell if you are not keto or carnivore (or you can make carnivore taco shells!)

  5. Store remaining meat in a airtight container in the fridge.
