Carnivore Electrolyte Gummies

It may sound silly but what are many gummies and soft candies made of? GELATIN! This was a no-brainer for me! Compounding that with electrolytes and you have a winning combination for Carnivore Electrolyte Gummies!

These are SOOO easy to make and they don't last very long in our house. If you are strict carnivore, you can omit the lemon juice and simply increase the water amount (see recipe below) and use raw unflavoured LMNT electrolytes instead of a flavoured LMNT pouch.

Supplies:

  • whisk

  • bowl

  • small saucepan

  • rubber spatula

  • measuring cups/spoons

Ingredients:

  • 1 pouch of LMNT Electrolyte Citrus Salt (use raw unflavoured if you are strict carnivore)

  • 2 tbsp Further Food Gelatin

  • Juice of 1 lemon - equivalent to about 1/4 cup of liquid (omit if strict carnivore and add an extra 1/4 cup of water to the total amount)

  • 1 cup of water

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, add water and sprinkle the Further Food gelatin over top. Whisk until it is combined and there are no clumps. This will help the gelatin "bloom".

  2. Pour mixture into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat stirring constantly until the gelatin mixture goes "clear". DO NOT BOIL THE MIXTURE! It should be warm but not boiling/hot.

  3. Pour mixture into a 2 cup measuring cup and add the lemon juice if using (omit if strict carnivore).

  4. Add the LMNT electrolyte pouch and whisk until well combined.

  5. Place your silicon molds/candy molds on a baking sheet for stability.

  6. Pour into molds and chill in the fridge for at least 60minutes before popping them out of the mold.

  7. Store in an air tight container for 2 weeks - if they last that long!

**For an extra sour twist, you could dip them in citric acid before eating!**
