Carnivore Custard
Carnivore Custard

This is a delightful alternative to the sugary custard options that are out there at restaurants. You can flavour this recipe OR enjoy it plain. It is totally up to you if you are strict carnivore or not! Either way, this delicious Carnivore Custard will have your family begging you to make it over and over!

Supplies:

  • whisk

  • measuring cups/spoons

  • mixing bowl

  • 4x baking ramekins (or other small baking dish- 5x5)

  • Large baking dish for these to rest in for the water bath

Ingredients:

  • 3 whole eggs

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream

  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract (optional) or 1 scoop Equip Prime Vanilla Collagen (click here for 15% off my favourite brand!)

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

  • OPTIONAL: 1 tsp cinnamon and/or 1/4 tsp nutmeg OR 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk all ingredients together until completely smooth.

  3. Divide evenly between 4 ramekins.

  4. Boil 2-3 cups of water.

  5. Place ramekins in the larger baking dish.

  6. Pour the boiling/hot water into the large baking dish to create a water bath. You will need at least 1" of water in the larger dish.

  7. Bake 30min.

  8. Use the back of a spoon to test the "doneness" of the custard. If the custard is super runny and sticks to the back of the spoon instead of bouncing, you may need to bake for 5-10min longer. The top should be a lovely golden brown.

  9. Allow to cool for 10min or chill completely before serving.
