Carnivore Cake - The "8-8-8" Recipe

Updated: May 16, 2024

This recipe is SO easy and really hit the spot for my husband and I! I had heard about this hyped up "cake" in the carnivore community and you know your girl needed to try it to verify! Well, I will verify that I love it! I modified this recipe a couple of times (see below) to offer some different versions because not everyone likes unsweetened recipes the way I do! :)

Supplies:

  • blender

  • rubber spatula

  • glass baking dish of choice (I used a small cake pan, but you can use a loaf pan!)

  • parchment paper (optional but recommended)

Ingredients:

  • 8oz of butter, room temp (I used 8oz of brown butter) you can use salted or unsalted - your choice!

  • 8oz of cream cheese (1 brick), room temp

  • 8 whole eggs

  • You could add vanilla and cinnamon.

  • I have added a scoop of @equipfoods Vanilla Collagen powder to this recipe which takes it to another level but for this reel, I did not use it. 💜 (Click here for 15% off your order!)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender.

  3. Blend until well combined. Scrape edges to ensure all ingredients are incorporated.

  4. Pour into a lined or greased baking dish. (**** 📝 some people like baking it in a loaf pan to slice and make “French toast”. I use a cake pan so it bakes more quickly and I can enjoy it like a slice of cake lol 😂)

  5. Bake at 350F for 25-30min or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. *** 📝 if using a loaf pan, adjust baking time to 40-45min or until the inserted toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Allow to cool before slicing.

I love to eat this with some freshly whipped (unsweetened) heavy whipped cream! Enjoy!

Hi looks divine! Is it really 8 oz of butter? That works out to 2 sticks of butter or 1 cup. Did you mean 8 tablespoons, like some other recipes I've seen for egg loaf?

I doubled the cream cheese as suggested in the comments. On the day of baking, it was very eggy and I counted it as a fail. The next day though? DELICIOUS!!!!!!! I added cinnamon and vanilla bean to the heavy whipped topping.

This recipe is so yummy! I followed a strict carnivore diet at the start of the year and was unable to stick to it. However a few months ago my friend gave me some carnivore cheesecake and my mind was absolutely blown. Then I found your article & this has become my new favourite. To anybody new to the carnivore lifestyle, just try to focus on making it as easy as possible, so it doesn't even feel like a diet. Don't stress if you consume a tiny amount of carbs. It's worth looking into a high quality carb blocker if you're doing it for weight loss reasons. You can find a very good one here

So good! This is easy and easily adaptable! Thank you for this!! Made it like the previous reviewer suggested with 2 blocks of cream cheese. The texture of this cake really improves with time. It seems crazy but i think it’s best four or five days after baking. I am a

Pastry chef/ baker and have missed being excited over something that can be used as a special occasion treat!! -(I topped with a chantilly whipped cream with the addition of mascarpone cheese to heavy whipping cream to pipe on top. I use pure almond extract and a little stevia, but again see this as a treat to supplement my carnivore lifestyle. ) even my non carnivore/ non sugar fre…

This was delicious! Thanks for the recipe. I browned my butter first and I added a spoonful of butter powder to thicken it a bit. My husband and I both loved it. 👍🏻
